This initiative is mainly for livelihood promotion and thus activities towards improving the incomes of women and young people are developed with a view of empowering them for self-sustenance. Notable initiatives include the following among others;
Agriculture as a Business;
Women in Agri-Business (WAB) and Agri-Business for Youth (ABY) programs have been initiated in which youth and women are mobilized, trained and given start-ups specifically for promoting agribusiness;
Synergies;
Here, communities are mobilized into groups, plan together and set priorities for generating incomes. They are supported by the organization to translate their ideas into bankable projects with a key feature of causing cohesion. They learn and grow as individuals in groups. This is premised on the Kudumbasree Model of India which transformed the lives of the target communities.
Referral and Linkages;
Supporting communities to tap on the existing and upcoming opportunities in the area is what KF cherishes. We are therefore organizing and supporting individuals and groups to tap into existing grants, funds and resources. These are in government, Private sector as well as civil society organizations.
